Overview:

It has the potential to redefine the ski/snowboard industry by creating a market for highly efficient local regional manufacturing direct to client and fully custom.

Often the idea of a factory insights thoughts of sterile, brightly lit, warehouses in less than desirable locations.  This perception is often relatively accurate.  Community skis decided they could do it differently.

Armed with a background in global ski manufacturing and a passion for disruption, Community Skis is charging forward with a vision that is entirely disruptive to what we typically deem necessary both in terms of how they manufacture skis and their less than ordinary factory.

Notes:

In this show we are mixing it up a bit by up gaming our cast.  Co-hosted by North Fork Industries Founder and ski geek Garret Van Swearingen with guests Michael Lish and Kristin Broumas we dive deep into an operation that is shaking up much of what we thought we knew about what it really takes to be a manufacturer.

Community skis deploys wildly innovative manufacturing methods engineered in a custom trailer space small enough to tow behind a standard truck.  They arealso fostering an entirely new way of thinking when it comes to the manufacturing process with an eye on decreasing waste and fostering the next generation of makers.

Currently operating out of  Bend, OR they are establishing a pilot program with the Bend School district that is focused on bring their methods and approach to high school students thirsty for a different perspective.
